Three-Day course, free for Cooper Agents

Intended for Cooper Lighting agents only, this three-day class will focus on Cooper Lighting products, performance and competitive differences.  This workshop will allow new agents to actively apply skills learned during each session.  This introductory level class will cover lighting terminology, photometry, LEDs, fixture types and an introduction to lighting controls.  The third day of the class will be focused on spending time with the customer service, technical and applications departments.

The goal of this program is to develop a strong understanding of how to utilize technology to develop a sound plan for energy savings, reduced maintenance and automated control of lighting systems for large facilities. A full understanding of new technologies such as LED lighting and daylight harvesting will be addressed for implementation in both retrofit and new construction. Utilizing case studies and attendee input, we will demonstrate various applications of both interior and site lighting.

LED Exterior Lighting Solutions
Two-Day seminar. CEUs: Up to 13 hours available. - $400.00

LEDs are changing the way we illuminate the nighttime environment. This two-day course will cover LEDs in detail as a source to consider for exterior applications based on their long life, extended maintenance cycles, and lower energy consumption in comparison to traditional lighting sources. Participants will study exterior lighting design and principles for nighttime applications and evaluate the operating characteristics of fixtures designed for exterior use. Exterior lighting legislation such as Model Lighting Ordinance, BUG Rating, and testing methodologies (LM79, LM80 and TM21) will be covered. This course is ideal for those involved in the design/specification or the energy management of exterior spaces, and for those looking to gain a better understanding of what to use in their unique applications.

Residential Lighting Solutions Workshop

This two-day introduction to residential lighting design will be explored from a lighting designer’s perspective. Participants will learn to apply design techniques that use today’s technologies. The class will study lamps and LEDs and their operating characteristics, luminaires in applications, and an introduction to control systems. The class project allows participants to analyze a variety of lighting techniques in both theory and practice. LEED, ENERGY STAR®, and legislation for residential design will be reviewed. It’s a great class to help prepare for the CLC certification exam.
