Energy Solutions Workshop for Cooper Lighting Agents
Two day course - Free to Cooper Lighting Agents

This two day class, designed for Cooper Lighting agents, will focus on the energy saving lighting and controls products that are available for industrial, commerical, warehousing and exterior environments. Lighting legislation and LEED will be discussed as well as the newest in lighting trends and technologies from traditional lamp sources to LED.

Lighting Fundamentals for Cooper Lighting Agents
Three-Day course, free for Cooper Agents

This three-day class will focus on Cooper Lighting products pertaining to the specification market and competitive differences. This workshop will allow new agents to actively apply skills learned during the sessions. The Lighting Fundamentals seminar is ideal for either newcomers to the field of lighting or those interested in a refresher course. This introductory level class will cover lighting terminology, photometry, lamps and ballasts, LEDs, fixture types, lamp-ballast systems and introductory to lighting controls.

Aug 2 - 3, 2012
LED Exterior Lighting Solutions
Two-Day seminar. CEUs: Up to 13 hours available. - $350.00

This two day class will cover LEDs as well as traditional lighting technologies and their use in the exterior environment. Study exterior lighting design and principles for area, roadway and floodlighting applications. The latest in LED lighting systems and their testing methodologies (LM79 & LM80) will be covered. Evaluate operating characteristics of fixtures designed for exterior use and discuss applicable lighting legislation and energy concerns. The course would be ideal for those that are involved in design, specification or energy management of exterior spaces.

  • Effect of color and brightness for the nighttime environment
  • Exterior lighting legislation, BUG ratings and MLO
  • LED’s and traditional lamp sources for the exterior applications
  • Criteria for proper equipment selection

Residential Lighting Solutions Workshop
Two-Day workshop. CEUs: Up to 12 hours available. - $350.00

This two-day introduction to residential lighting design will be explored from a lighting designer's perspective. Learn to apply design techniques that use today's technologies. Study lamps and LEDs and their operating characteristics, luminaires in applications and an introduction to control systems. The class project allows you to analyze a variety of lighting techniques in both theory and practice.  LEED, ENERGY STAR® and legislation for residential design will be reviewed. It's a great class to help prepare you for the CLC certification exam.

Healthcare Lighting Solutions is a two-day interactive workshop that addresses the specific lighting needs of patients, guests and employees in the healthcare environment. Participants will learn about the psychology of light, visual lighting cues and lighting for various healthcare applications. There will be discussion of healthcare and current lighting research, lighting for circadian benefits, vision, color and lighting for special populations and how this information can be incorporated into the design of a facility.
